Columbia Artists Theatricals (CAT) specializes in the distribution and production of commercial and theatrically staged live entertainment on a worldwide basis.

Founded in 1956 as a subsidiary of Columbia Artists Management Inc., the company began as a theatrical booking agency, establishing and servicing Broadway subscription series in over 125 cities in the United States and Canada. In this capacity the company works directly with New York-based producers and general managers, enabling their productions to find an extended life on the road.

In addition, the company launched an initiative to bring the finest international theatre companies to the United States including the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre, The Abbey Theatre, The Comedie Francais and Johannesburg Market Theatre.

Gradually CAT began to expand into the areas of theatrical production and general management in order to maintain and expand its presence in a rapidly growing marketplace. In recent years the company has begun to export productions from the United States to international territories including the United Kingdom, South America, Europe, Japan and Russia.

Today CAT is broadening its reach through the creation of a licensing agency for theatrical productions, as well as continuing its long tradition of producing, managing and distributing the very finest in theatrical entertainment.
